What can be outcome of AI Era

While AI is progressing really fast, I believe you guys are getting uncomfortable on what to expect while this AI Era is on going. I checked few things from the history and trying to answer the question for what can be aftermath.

Before we dive into this topic few points needs to be understood which I will discuss first then we start on to new things.

Business Cycle with new machine

Every time new machine gets invented it mainly to speed up the production, reduce the cost or manpower. In each point in time every business or industy wants the New Machine which magically improves the business.

Aftermath of new machine in market

First lot of people get fired, and production increases with low cost.
Then people with less resources rise up because it's their time to shine as they can start business. Even when new machine came in it requires people. Who better to handle the machine then the people who used to work in same business.
Now Everyone got the job back and few more people got jobs as well because 100s of new companies were born.

How many times same cycle repeats?

It keeps repeating and each time it cut downs the cost and more people
New people start business and 10x new companies gets built till the system is generalized and availble to everyone.
Let's call it Destruction of Industry. While this happens, people in it actually knows and they stop other new people from joining in same market. Which makes damage minimum.

Is there any different outcome?

Yes, There is.
Let's say there are 10 houses and one sugar factory. System was in equilibrium. But one person makes a machine. 10x production with just 3 people. Cost of the machine is still high. So, it's not available for everyone.
Suddenly there is too much sugar for 10 houses. That leaves sugar with no real value. Which means person that adopted the machine actually killed the business. Because no one is interested in product with no value.

What happens when business is killed?
As there is a lot of sugar available without any real value, Someone will start researching on it's potential uses and comes up with something new. Like Making energy, water, or something useful.

Because the conversion is involved it will be a costly and it will require manpower as well but it's useful. It either save time, or saves energy or doing something that is actually needed by society.

So, The new industry is born. It's costly and requires manpower which starts new cycle. But in this case we got one resource in the process. Let's call it evolution because we moved one step forward. From using soil to Growing cotten, cotten to simple clothes, simple to fancy cloths and moving toward more and more complex items.

Coming back to AI Era

As perspective of machine, Which industry did AI targetted?
Content Creation
Did it solve the cost and manpower problem? Definitely.
So, There is 2 potential outcome.

1. Everyone makes their own content

Definitely possibility, Everyone has their own imagination and if possible they would like to make their own images, videos and content.
So, They start to entertain them self and others. How?
People will start making their own films and keep sharing it for the fun of it. One industry dies but multiple industries will born.

Remember when new smartphone camera came in, Before that most of the people were going to studio to make their photos. Now they have their own camera which are arguably becoming more powerful then those actual camera.

Did camera business die? Nope
Then what happened? Storage, Smartphone Camera, Image/Video Editing and Sharing came in as new industries.

Storage needs sky rocketed and we got multiple TB storage with us. Did you guess this can happen in 2008? Nope, We didn't even had 512MB memory card.

Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest started growing. Because people wanted to share things that they clicked.

While this happened, We got smartphone as a resource. Which still at this date we keep improving and refining as there is demand for better camera, compute and storage keeps rising.

If we take this into consideration then the amount of data required in AI Era is huge. So, More Storage, Internet bandwidth, Cloud Storage, Data analysis system, Data minifier/compression systems, etc will rise.

2. More content then people can consume

Amount of content that gets thrown over the internet goes above the capacity of people watching it. While AI stayed a little costly and out of reach from normal people.

This will be devastating for content creators. Because they make meaningful content but reaching to people is almost impossible as they are making 100 videos per day and people are stuck at 20th or 30th video and they need time to reach 100th video.

As videos are largely available and there are 100s of creators available revenue gets shared, commission falls, they don't earn enough to make living. Plus, People stop liking the content because of amount of content pushed by creator. Hence they unsubscribe.

Solution: Content creation improvised. Making videos is now resource.
They start to make videos which goes quite deep in people's mind with more impact. By creating 1 video from 200 or 300. Combining good items, polish, self test and publish. While keeping pace where people feel ok. This is more like making fancy cloths from normal clothing.

It's always more important to look at pace where you don't go super speed. Otherwise you kill the business or break entire industry.

Who is making this evolution possible?

Engineers and Scientists. (Developers are actually computer engineers)

Problem for Investor, Business owner, or Enterprenuers for cost cutting, reduce manpower or to make new industry which everytime gets solved by Engineers and Scientists.

At this moment, If you feel that websites are getting made by just a prompt. Here are my questions:

1. Is business owner making that prompt?
2. Is Investor hosting that code generated by AI?
3. Is Enterprenuer looking at the bug came in at midnight from code made by AI?
4. Who is looking after the code, fixing bugs, making it compatible for SEO, Adding analytics and integrations, make it ready to push to market?
5. Do you believe that code generated by AI is so perfect that fits requirements of entirely new thought?

Tons and Tons of requests are coming each day with many people want to build multiple websites/applications/tools.

Even if AI goes perfect they don't have time to do 100s of prompt per day. Again manpower needed to run 100 prompts, analyse output, improve upon it and make it ready for business.

My fellow developers/engineers/scientists, Extreme amount of work ahead for us. As AI grows it will make 100s of new industries and we are the ones who will make this evolution possible.

My Thoughts on which new areas to expand in the AI Era:

1. Making AI more efficient and perfect
2. Improve GPUs and NPUs for AI or make something new to speed up inference
3. Improve Processors for computing power with less energy usage
4. Speed up data store/retrive/compress processes
5. Research on connecters for more speed in data transfer
6. Improve Wi-Fi or find alternative
7. Speed up Databases, Framework or making ultimate version of them
8. Creating All in one packages to get business ready at super speed

Did you know, Each time we make something new, We introduce a huge amount of manual requiring more people to handle. Like if you create website then SEO, Content, Data Entry, and Sales guys will be needed to run business. Plus, It needs maintainance, bug fixing, new features which is also continuous efforts. So, We make 2-10 more jobs when we make new website/app/tool.

This is our time make the most of it and keep pressing ahead. Keep making new things with long lasting impact which makes evolution possible.
